The trendy makeup brand Fara Homidi Beauty has secured investment from Sandbridge Capital, a private equity firm recognized for successful exits with brands like Thom Browne, Ilia Beauty, and Youth to the People.
On Tuesday, the specific amount of funding was not disclosed, but founder and CEO Fara Homidi referred to it as a “substantial” sum, making Sandbridge a key minority partner. Previously, the brand had received financial support from friends and family. Homidi plans to utilize the investment for expanding the team, enhancing marketing efforts, and pursuing international growth, starting with the UK.
“We have operated efficiently, but we aim to grow,” she stated.
Fara Homidi Beauty, which won the Creative Execution award at The Business of Beauty Global Awards last year, has gained significant attention in just two years, featuring in Vogue covers and runway shows, and attracting celebrities such as Hailey Bieber. The brand initially launched at luxury beauty retailers like Violet Grey and Dover Street Parfums Market before its upcoming debut at Sephora in June 2024.
Ken Suslow, founder and managing partner of Sandbridge Capital, expressed that the brand’s unique approach to clean and effective color cosmetics, alongside its luxury makeup-artist positioning, resonated with the firm.
The brand adds to Sandbridge Capital’s diverse portfolio, which includes beauty and fashion names such as U Beauty, DedCool, Ariana Grande’s R.e.m. Beauty, and Rossignol. Sandbridge has previously achieved successful exits with Thom Browne in fashion and Ilia Beauty and Youth to the People in the beauty sector.
“We focused more on creating something meaningful and unique rather than just discussing makeup or financial figures,” Homidi shared.
