Nike Inc and Kim Kardashian are collaborating to launch a new fitness brand aimed at women.
The two companies announced they are developing an “extensive line” of apparel, footwear, and accessories under the name NikeSkims. They share a long-term vision for creating body-conscious activewear for women.
Kardashian, co-founder of Skims, stated, “This partnership is the culmination of that shared vision, delivering product that is meticulously designed to sculpt and perform for every body.”
The inaugural NikeSkims collection is set to launch in the spring, with plans for global expansion by 2026.
Nike is placing renewed emphasis on female athletes as part of a turnaround strategy led by new CEO Elliott Hill. Recently, the brand aired a commercial during the Super Bowl for the first time in decades, featuring prominent female sports figures such as WNBA star Caitlin Clark, sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson, and gymnast Jordan Chiles.
Nike’s stock saw a rise of up to 2.2 percent in premarket trading in New York, although it remains down 3.5 percent year-to-date through last Friday’s close.
Puck News was the first to report on Nike’s partnership with Skims.
