Jordan Brand is set to launch a new Air Jordan 3 in the Air Jordan 3 “Rare Air” colorway next summer.
The iconic Air Jordan 3, which debuted in 1988, marked Tinker Hatfield’s first design for Jordan Brand and was pivotal in maintaining Michael Jordan’s partnership with Nike. Renowned for its innovative elephant print and visible Air unit, the AJ3 transformed basketball footwear and continues to uphold its legacy with every release.
In 2006, Jordan Brand launched the “Rare Air” series, featuring exclusive designs. The “Rare Air” theme returns in 2025 with the upcoming Air Jordan 4 “Rare Air” alongside the newly unveiled AJ3.
This latest version showcases a black leather upper paired with grey suede accents on the toe and heel. Military Blue highlights enhance the midsole and collar, providing a contemporary update to the classic design. The red branding on the heel tab offers a striking finish, echoing original design elements. Notably, instead of the typical “Nike Air” branding, the left shoe will display standard branding while the right shoe will feature it inverted.
The Air Jordan 3 “Rare Air” is scheduled for release in May 2025, priced at $210 through SNKRS and select retailers.
