Not always. As of September 2026, Shopify B2B without Plus gives you companies, net terms, volume pricing, reorders and up to three catalogs on the Basic, Grow and Advanced plans, according to Shopify’s Help Center. What you can’t get is a price list set for one specific account.
Syndicate builds wholesale fashion suppliers and distributors their own online stores, so we have a stake in what you choose. Everything below comes from Shopify’s own documentation.
What does “three catalogs” mean for a fashion brand?
Think of the PDFs you send today. If you keep one linesheet for independents, one for key accounts and one for distributors, you already run three price lists. In Shopify, each of those is a catalog: a selection of products with prices attached.
On Basic, Grow and Advanced, catalogs are assigned to B2B markets, which are groups of buyers you define, not to individual accounts. Shopify’s B2B and Markets guide describes markets as a way to group your B2B customers and give each group its own pricing and product availability. You can have up to three active catalogs across all your B2B markets, and every account in a market sees the same prices. Put all three catalogs on one market and you’ve used the whole allowance.
What can you do on Shopify B2B without Plus?
More than most guides suggest. Shopify’s feature table lists these on every plan, Basic included:
| What you need | Basic, Grow, Advanced | Plus |
|---|---|---|
| Company accounts with multiple locations | Yes | Yes |
| Catalogs with your wholesale prices | Up to 3, by market | Unlimited |
| Minimums, maximums and order increments | Yes | Yes |
| Quantity price breaks | Yes | Yes |
| Net payment terms and payment reminders | Yes | Yes |
| Easy reorders and a quick order list | Yes | Yes |
| PO numbers and draft orders to invoice | Yes | Yes |
| Prices set for one specific account | No | Yes |
| Deposits and partial payments | No | Yes |
Two conditions come with it. Shopify says the lower plans need its new Markets setup to use B2B catalogs. It also lists contextual checkout and storefront customization by market on Advanced and Plus only.
What can only Shopify Plus do?
The Plus-only list is short, and for fashion wholesale it lands on the two things that matter most: pricing and money up front.
- Direct company catalogs. A catalog assigned to one company or one location, so a single account sees its own negotiated prices.
- Unlimited catalogs. As many price lists as you have arrangements.
- Deposits, partial payments and payment requests per fulfillment. If you ask for a deposit when a buyer places a pre-season order, Shopify lists this as Plus-only.
How do you tell which one your brand needs?
Count your price lists, not your accounts. Forty boutiques on the same wholesale price are one catalog.
- Three or fewer price lists, shared by groups of buyers, and no deposits: a regular plan can do it. On Shopify’s Canadian pricing page, checked September 27, 2026, that’s $37, $99 or $389 CAD a month on yearly billing.
- Prices negotiated account by account, or deposits on orders: that’s Plus, at $3,650 CAD a month on a one-year term, per Shopify’s Canadian Plus pricing page, checked September 25, 2026.
That gap is where most brands stall: roughly $1,200 a year on Grow against $43,800 on Plus, which can come down to a single feature. We’ve broken down the full Plus bill, including card fees and the five-year total, in what Shopify B2B actually costs in Canada. If your price lists live in PDFs today, our guide to linesheets is a useful place to count them.
When did B2B stop being Plus-only?
On April 2, 2026. Shopify’s changelog announced that merchants on Basic, Grow and Advanced could start selling wholesale with native B2B features at no additional cost. Unlimited catalogs for customer-specific pricing, direct catalog assignment, partial payments and deposits stayed on Plus. Guides written before that date, and some written after, still say B2B requires Plus, so check the date on anything you read.
Plan features and prices here were checked on Shopify’s own pages in September 2026. Shopify changes both without notice, so confirm them at the linked pages before you choose a plan.
