Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers for Season 2, Episode 13 of Found. The latest episode delivers intense drama, featuring a gripping case-of-the-week, new developments regarding Jamie’s abduction, and the ongoing tension between main character Gabi ( Shanola Hampton ) and her kidnapper, Sir ( Mark-Paul Gosselaar ). While the show maintains its suspenseful narrative, the alleged demise of Christian Evans ( Michael Cassidy ), Sir’s brother, raises questions.
Christian’s Dilemma: Innocence in Jeopardy
Christian Evans has faced significant challenges throughout the season. His brother, Hugh “Sir” Evans, a notorious kidnapper, has been terrorizing Gabi and her associates, attempting to lure Gabi away to the Netherlands. Although Christian has tried to assist in locating his brother, his efforts have yielded little success. Despite their troubled relationship, Christian insists he is not like Sir, yet the evidence against him continues to mount.
It is evident that Sir has an accomplice. Theories abound regarding this accomplice. Gabi may have faith in Christian’s innocence, but the accumulating evidence against him is troubling. DNA linked to Sir was discovered at a farmhouse, Heather Tollin, a defense attorney, was shot, and a threatening note was found at Gabi’s residence. While these events seem incriminating to Gabi and the viewers, they appear as conclusive proof to Detective Mark Trent and the DCPD.
Christian’s fear of his brother is apparent. He previously assisted Sir by delivering messages to Gabi and aided him when Lacey injured him. However, Christian also attempted to prevent Sir from kidnapping Gabi again. Gabi supports Christian’s innocence, and there are numerous indications that challenge the notion of his guilt.
Gabi’s Reaction to Christian’s ‘Death’

Regarding Gabi, the manner in which Christian’s “death” is revealed is questionable. The audience does not witness Christian’s demise; instead, Gabi informs Sir that Christian took his own life to avoid capture. While Gabi delivers this news with reluctance, she does not seem particularly distressed, which is puzzling given her belief in Christian’s innocence.
Furthermore, Gabi’s character is highlighted as someone who mourns all the missing individuals she has been unable to find. Her philosophy centers around the belief that everyone deserves to be found, and she maintains a dedicated space in her home to honor those she has lost. Ironically, despite the episode showcasing this room, Christian’s photo is notably absent from her memorial.
Is Christian Truly Gone?
Gabi suspects that Sir’s true accomplice is framing Christian, and there may be validity to her theory. During a confrontation with Trent, the lights were cut, allowing Sir to escape. Sir clearly underestimates Christian, who lacks fighting skills. While suspicions about Heather persist, it is evident that whoever the accomplice is, they intend to eliminate Christian.
It’s possible that Christian is not dead. If Found aimed to generate suspense regarding Christian’s murderer, they could have shown his death without revealing the killer’s identity. A visual cue, such as a hand pulling a trigger, would suffice to confirm his demise. However, the absence of his body raises doubts. There has been too much emphasis on Christian to simply write him off off-screen, and it would be an unsatisfactory conclusion for Michael Cassidy, who has delivered a remarkable performance as Sir’s fearful sibling thus far.
This scenario only holds if Christian is alive and Gabi is concealing him in a witness protection-like arrangement. Gabi believes that Sir’s real accomplice wants Christian dead to frame him. If this is accurate, being “dead” might be his safest option. If Christian is “dead” and in hiding, he can assist Gabi in identifying the true accomplice and anticipate Sir’s next move without putting himself in danger. Christian has sought Gabi’s help in recent episodes, and despite his flaws, she would never deny assistance to someone in genuine peril. Although this may seem optimistic given Christian’s innocence, there are undeniable inconsistencies within the narrative of Found.
