The animated LEGO Star Wars series, Rebuild the Galaxy, is set to expand with two new significant additions. At the Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo, Japan, Lucasfilm revealed that a new special titled Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past is in the works. This special will feature notable figures from Star Wars animation history and a lesser-known character from the extensive Star Wars comic book universe. Ashley Eckstein will reprise her role as Ahsoka Tano in LEGO BrickHeadz form, while Ben Schwartz is anticipated to portray the mischievous alien rabbit Jaxxon.
This special will follow the narrative established in the Rebuild the Galaxy miniseries, which revolved around two brothers, Sig ( Gaten Matarazzo ) and Dev Greebling ( Tony Revolori ), who discover an ancient relic known as the Cornerstone. Sig is transported to a bizarre version of the Star Wars universe where Tatooine is a water planet, Jar Jar Binks ( Ahmed Best ) and Rose Tico ( Kelly Marie Tran ) are ruthless Sith Lords, Luke Skywalker ( Mark Hamill ) is portrayed as a hippie, and Lando Calrissian ( Billy Dee Williams ) is referred to as “The Landolorian.” While the poster provides minimal insight into the storyline, it showcases a giant Chewbacca, Ahsoka as a Funko Pop-style BrickHeadz figure, and Jaxxon as a standard LEGO minifigure, alongside the series protagonist Sig. All episodes of Pieces of the Past are scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on September 19, 2025.
