Is Faire worth it for brands? Fees, Faire Direct and the alternatives

What Faire charges, what reorders add up to, a simple test for whether it’s paying off, and what brands use instead.

Faire for brands is worth it when Faire brings you retailers you wouldn’t reach on your own. Faire’s North American fee page, checked October 2026, lists 15% commission on marketplace orders and 0% on Faire Direct orders from retailers you bring.

Syndicate builds wholesale fashion suppliers and distributors their own online stores, so we have a stake in what you choose. We’ve set out Faire’s fees the way Faire publishes them.

How are brands using Faire today?

Most brands on Faire also sell wholesale another way. Maybe your PDF goes to long-standing accounts by email. Maybe you’ve moved part of it into Brandboom or ApparelMagic. Or some orders still come in by phone.

  • Two order streams to match up. Some orders arrive through Faire, others by email.
  • Commission on reorders. A retailer you met on Faire reorders, and the 15% applies again.
  • Links to send. You send existing buyers your Faire Direct link so their orders carry 0%.

What does Faire charge brands?

Faire charges a commission on marketplace orders, a one-time fee on a new retailer’s first order, and a processing fee that depends on how fast you’re paid. These are the North American rates on Faire’s fee page, checked October 8, 2026. The page says North American pricing last changed on July 5, 2023.

What do one retailer’s reorders cost on Faire over a year?

Reorders are where the commission adds up. Take a retailer who found you on Faire’s marketplace and reorders four times a year, at $1,000 each. You, the brand, pay the fees.

At 15%, each reorder costs $150, so $150 × 4 = $600 in commission on reorders alone. With 60-day payouts, processing adds 1.9% + $0.30 per order: $19.30 × 4 = $77.20. That’s $677.20 on $4,000 of reorders, at Faire’s rates checked October 8, 2026.

Had that retailer’s first order come through your Faire Direct link instead, you’d pay 0% commission. Faire’s fee page says a Faire Direct customer’s later orders stay at 0% too.

What does Faire do well for brands?

Faire makes ordering easy for retailers. Its own guide to Faire Direct was published May 16, 2025. It says retailers ordering through a brand’s link get 60-day payment terms and free returns on first orders (Faire, How to use Faire Direct).

That’s a real reason some of your buyers like ordering there. Syndicate answers it another way. Your current buyers keep ordering however they’re comfortable, and the lead research included in every build finds new accounts for you.

Faire also connects to Shopify. In the Shopify App Store wholesale category, checked October 8, 2026, Faire’s brand-side app, “Faire: Sell Wholesale”, is rated 4.6 from 460 reviews. Its retailer-side app, “Faire: Buy Wholesale”, is rated 4.9 from 1,303.

On the App Store, at least, retailers rate their side of Faire higher than brands rate theirs. A Syndicate store is set up for the brand: you set each account’s prices and decide what’s public.

Is Faire worth it for your brand?

Faire earns its fee while it brings you retailers you can’t reach yourself. It’s worth less once most orders come from accounts you already know. You keep paying commission on every reorder from a retailer who first found you on the marketplace.

Try a simple test. Look at last season’s Faire orders. How many came from retailers you’d never heard of? If most did, Faire is paying its way. If most were accounts you already had, they belong on your Faire Direct link at 0%, or off a marketplace altogether.

What are the alternatives to Faire?

The main routes besides Faire are a wholesale platform subscription, Shopify’s B2B features, or building your own. Here’s what the platforms publish.

What does Syndicate offer instead of Faire?

Syndicate’s team provides expertise specifically for fashion and eCommerce. We build a wholesale store you own, so the buyer relationship and every order stay on your site. Each wholesale customer gets their own prices, included in the build.

Every build includes research on up to 100 wholesale buyer leads. Every lead is vetted: we confirm it’s an active business, provide contact details, and set up their account on your store with you.

It runs alongside email and PDF ordering, and you decide what’s public. You own the domain, the hosting, the files and every login.

What does Faire’s own research say about retailers?

Faire says 90% of retailers find it very easy to place wholesale orders on Faire, citing its November 2024 survey of 1,250 Faire retailers (Faire, May 2025). That’s Faire surveying its own customers, so read it as Faire’s view of what its retailers expect from wholesale ordering.

We checked these prices and plan details in October 2026. Vendors change these pages without notice, so confirm them at the linked sources before you decide.
